Viewing Backup Reports

Backup reports that were generated manually or automatically, according to a specified schedule, are saved in the All Reports list. Backup reports are available as PDF documents that you can download and view.

Required Privileges

To perform this task, a user must have one of the following roles assigned: Portal Administrator, Site Administrator, Portal Operator, Read-only User.

Viewing Backup Reports

To view a backup report:

  1. Log in to Veeam Service Provider Console.

  1. In the menu on the left, click Reports.

Veeam Service Provider Console will display a list of all generated backup reports. To narrow down the list of reports, you can use the following filters:

  • Report — search backup reports by report configuration name.
  • Type — limit the list of reports by type (VM Backup Report, Backup Agent Report, File Share Backup Report).
  • Time period — limit the list of backup reports by generation date or period.
  • Site/Reseller/Company/Location — limit the list of reports by Veeam Cloud Connect site, company and location to which reports belong. To limit the list of reports by site, reseller, company and location, use filters at the top left corner of the Veeam Service Provider Console window.
  1. Select the necessary backup report in the list and click View at the top of the list.

Alternatively, you can click a link in the Report column.

The backup report PDF file will be saved to the default download location on your computer.

Protected Computers Backup Report

The Protected Computers report analyzes the efficiency of computer data protection with Veeam backup agents.

  • The Report Parameters section provides information about company locations, RPO period and operation mode of Veeam backup agents that run on computers in the report scope, mask for the computers excluded from the report scope, the way Veeam backup agent data is grouped in the report, Veeam backup agent management type and guest OS.
  • The Summary section provides information about the number of company locations in the report scope and the number of discovered, protected and unprotected computers in each location.
  • The report charts display information about protected and unprotected computers, the type and platform of computers protected with Veeam backup agents, the latest backup status of each job on protected computers, and reasons for a failure to meet RPO requirements.
  • The Details section provides information about all protected and unprotected computers including host name, backup policy name, backup source and target, number of available restore points and date, time and state of the latest backup.
  • The Unprotected Agents subsection displays a list of client computers that do not have valid restore points within the configured RPO period. Information on unprotected computers in each company location is grouped by the age of the latest backup files.
  • The Protected Agents subsection displays a list of client computers that have at least one restore point that meets RPO requirements specified in the report configuration. Information on protected computers in each company location is grouped by Veeam backup agent or backup policy, as configured in the report parameters.

Protected VMs Backup Report

The Protected VMs report analyzes the efficiency of VM data protection with Veeam Backup & Replication.

  • The Report Parameters section provides information about company locations, RPO period, job type and platform type of VMs in the report scope and mask for the VMs excluded from the report scope.
  • The report charts display information about the number of VMs protected with backup jobs, backup to tape jobs, backup copy jobs, replication jobs, snapshots and remote snapshots.
  • The Details section provides information about all protected and unprotected VMs including VM name and resource ID, platform type, backup server name, backup job name and destination, backup type, number of available restore points and date and time of the latest restore point and job run.
  • The Unprotected VMs subsection displays a list of VMs that have outdated or missing backup or replica restore points. Information on unprotected VMs in each company location is grouped by the age of the latest restore points.
  • The Protected VMs subsection displays a list of VMs that have at least one backup or replica restore point that meets RPO requirements specified in the report configuration. Information on protected VMs in each company location is grouped by last backup state.

Protected File Shares Backup Report

The Protected File Shares report analyzes the efficiency of file share data protection with Veeam Backup & Replication.

  • The Report Parameters section provides information about company locations and backup type in the report scope.
  • The Summary section provides information about the number of protected and unprotected file shares in each company location. Note that data in this section does not include file shares protected with file share backup copy jobs.
  • The report charts display information about the number of file shares protected with Veeam Backup & Replication and the breakdown of the total backup size by retention type.
  • The Details section provides information about all protected and unprotected file shares including file share name, backup job name and destination, retention type, backup source items, file mask, total backup size and date and time of the latest backup.
  • The Unprotected File Shares subsection displays a list of file shares that have outdated or missing restore points. Information on unprotected file shares in each company location is grouped by backup job.
  • The Protected File Shares subsection displays a list of file shares that have at least one restore point created within last 30 days by file share backup jobs, or imported backup files created by file share backup jobs within last 30 days. Information on protected file shares in each company location is grouped by backup job.
