Deleting Backup Files

To clean up data remaining after you remove a Veeam Service Provider Console company or a cloud tenant, you can permanently delete backups from Veeam Service Provider Console without accessing the Veeam Backup & Replication console.

Note

From Veeam Service Provider Console, you can delete only backups stored on Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam Cloud Connect repositories. You cannot delete backups stored locally on the remote machine.

To delete backup files:

  1. Log in to Veeam Service Provider Console.

For details, see Accessing Veeam Service Provider Console.

  1. In the menu on the left, click Protected Data.
  2. Open the necessary tab:
  • Virtual Machines > Virtual Infrastructure — select this tab to delete VM backups.
  • Computers > Managed by Backup Server — select this tab to delete monitored Veeam backup agent backups.
  1. Select the necessary workload in the list and click a link in the Backups column.
  2. Select one or more backups from the list.
  3. At the top of the list, click Delete.
  4. In the confirmation window, click Yes.

Note that deleting backup files may take considerable time. The backup will remain visible with the Removing status until the deletion completes.
