Managing Credentials

This section describes how to manage credentials records, encryption passwords and Key Management System (KMS) keys in Veeam Backup & Replication.

Note

Credentials and encryption passwords are scoped per role, not per user. Users assigned to the same role share the credentials, and a user loses access to a credential when their role changes. Administrators cannot access credentials or encryption passwords created under a custom role. This applies to the Veeam Backup & Replication console, Web UI, PowerShell and REST API.
