Adding Storage Vaults Using Console

To add a new storage vault, do the following:

Before you start adding storage vaults, you must obtain Veeam Data Cloud Vault and create a Vault tenant that will be used to manage these vaults. For more information, see the Veeam Data Cloud User Guide, section Adding Veeam Data Cloud Vault Tenants.
Veeam Plug-in for AWS does not support adding storage vaults located in AWS China Regions or AWS GovCloud (US) Regions.
Veeam Plug-in for AWS supports storing image-level backups only in storage vaults with the S3 Standard-IA storage class assigned. The S3 Standard, S3 Glacier Flexible Retrieval and S3 Glacier Deep Archive storage classes are not supported.
Keep in mind that if your resources operate in a private environment, Veeam Plug-in for AWS does not support enabling the private network deployment functionality while Veeam Data Cloud Vault storage is added to the backup appliance. As a workaround, you can configure your private environment in a way that best suits your security requirements. One possible solution is to configure VPC endpoints as described in section Appendix C. Configuring Endpoints in AWS. In this case, worker instances used for backup operations must be deployed in the same AWS Region as the storage vault, since there is a limitation on the AWS side.

Connecting to Existing Storage Vaults

Veeam Backup & Replication allows you to connect to existing storage vaults that already contain image-level backups created by the backup appliance. You can then use the Veeam Backup & Replication console to copy and import these backups and restore EC2 instances from them. For more information on usage scenarios, see External Repositories.

To connect to a storage vault, do the following:

In the Veeam Backup & Replication console, open the Backup Infrastructure view.
Navigate to External Repositories and click Connect to Repository on the ribbon.

Alternatively, you can right-click the External Repositories node and select Connect to.

Complete the New External Repository wizard as described in section Adding External Veeam Data Cloud Vault Storage.
