Linux Helper Host
Linux helper hosts can be deployed using the Veeam Infrastructure Appliance ISO image by selecting the Infrastructure Appliance option. This enables certificate-based authentication, secure industry-standard communication protocols, and automated updates that are centrally controlled using the Veeam Backup & Replication server.

Component hardware requirements must be added to the Veeam Infrastructure Appliance system requirements to ensure that the assigned role has sufficient CPU and RAM resources. |
In addition to this option, you can deploy and manage backup proxies on supported operating systems of your choice.

Disk space: Reserve at least 550 MB of free space in /tmp to extract data mover agents. On some Linux distributions, /tmp is mounted as tmpfs, sized to 50% of total RAM by default — on hosts with less than 4 GB of RAM, this may leave too little free space when the Helper Host runs multiple agent roles at once (for example, mount and restore target simultaneously). |
