Managing Credentials

This section describes different types of credential records that Veeam Backup & Replication supports.

Note

Credentials and encryption passwords are scoped per role, not per user. Users assigned to the same role share the same credentials, and a user loses access to a credential when their role changes. Administrators cannot access credentials or encryption passwords created under a custom role — this applies in the Veeam Backup & Replication console, Web UI, PowerShell, and REST API.
