Configuring Updates Using Web UI
To configure global update settings using the Veeam Backup & Replication web UI, do the following:
- Click Configuration in the top right corner, then click Update Settings.
- Under Software updates, configure:
- Automatically install — which updates install automatically (Security updates only by default). Major releases are never installed automatically.
- Maintenance window — Weekly (recommended), Monthly, or None to schedule updates manually. Click Configure to set the day and time (for example, "At 14:00 on Sunday").
- Under Compliance deadline, specify the number of days after an update is found before it installs regardless of the maintenance window (30 by default, up to 90). Past this deadline, updates install at the first opportunity.
- Under Software Repository, select where to retrieve updates from:
- Official Veeam repository (recommended) — downloads updates from the official repositories provided and managed by Veeam.
- Mirror repository — retrieves updates from a repository you mirror yourself from the official Veeam repository. If necessary, choose a valid certificate.
- Under Internet proxy for Veeam Software Appliances, set the Use Internet proxy toggle to On and specify the proxy details if your backup server needs a proxy to reach the internet.
- Click Save.
