Veeam Updater Interface

Veeam Updater is the component that checks for downloads and installs updates for the backup server. It has a dedicated interface with three sections: Updates, History, and Settings.

To open Veeam Updater:

  • In the VBR web UI, click Configuration in the top right corner
  • Click About.
  • Click Updater interface.

Updates

The Updates tab shows available updates and lets you select which ones to install.

  • The banner at the top shows how long ago VBR last checked for updates. Click Check for Updates to check manually.
  • Available updates are grouped as:
  • Quality updates — mandatory updates. The page shows the date they install automatically if you do not install them sooner (see Configuring Updates).
  • Product updates (optional) — VBR itself, platform integration plug-ins, and third-party storage plug-ins.
  • Click What's new? to see release details for a selected update.

History

The History tab lists past update sessions and lets you download logs.

Settings

The Settings page is used to configure update settings for this specific backup server, overriding the global configuration if needed.

Set the Manual settings override toggle to On to configure this server update settings independently — see Configuring Updates.

Before installing an update, Veeam Updater runs a configuration check and reports compatibility issues (for example, an unsupported OS version or an insecure hardened repository configuration) that must be resolved first.
